Towns en-route of "The March" completed during 2000

 

During October 2000 a group now known, as "Henry's Five" led by Ron Fraser M.V.O. completed a journey totaling 238 miles to recreate the route followed by Henry V in 1415 from Harfleur to Azincourt. To our knowledge this had never been  achieved or attempted before.

The route shown below was that taken by Ron and four others they were:- Edward Robinson (Longshanks), Debbie Butcher, Myles Treacy and Geoff Towers. 

They arrived at Azincourt on the 25th October 2000 after completing the journey with the assistance and hospitality of all of the towns enroute, we would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their help without which this task could not have been completed.

The actual date of Henry's departure from Harfleur  was around the 7th/8th of October 1415. Henry's army was mostly mounted - since it was a chevauchee and arrive at Maisoncelles on the 24th October1415.
