The object of the Azincourt Alliance, is to co-ordinate various societies at their events and thereby entertain and educate the visiting public with demonstrations of life during "The One Hundred Years War" circa 1337-1453.
Membership is open to both sexes and all age groups subject to conditions below. All member societies should show as high a level of dedication as is individually possible. A person under the age of fourteen shall be known as a concessionary member and will be a full member after that age. All concessionary members must be under the care and control of their parent/guardian. The Azincourt Alliance reserves the right to refuse or refute membership, to any person without recourse to the Azincourt Alliance, by a vote of the committee or by request of the members. The committee may suspend any society or member at any time as is necessary. Appeals will be heard either verbally or in writing, the Committees decision shall be final.
Control of appearance is governed by the Azincourt Alliance appointed advisors. Only weapons, armour, equipment, heraldry and costumes approved by the advisors are allowed to be worn or used. As a guide, equipment and costume used should be of a style that would have been worn, or used in Europe during the period know as "The One Hundred Years War" (1337-1453).
Subscriptions if introduced will be at an amount agreed by the committee at the A.G.M.. This amount will be per year, pro-rata, due on the 1st January each year and designed to cover the running costs only of the The Azincourt Alliance. Subscription rates shall be set, each year, at the A.G.M. Subscriptions may be paid to The Azincourt Alliance by cash or cheque. Honorary and Concessionary members or societies shall not be required pay subscriptions if introduced.
The Committee shall consist of Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Secretary. The Committee shall be able to co-opt any member or member society as is necessary. The Committee shall be responsible for the administration of The Azincourt Alliance, meeting as is needed. The Committee is empowered to act on behalf of the member societies, of the The Azincourt Alliance. Two Committee members shall constitute a quorum of a committee meeting. Chairman The Chairman shall be responsible for the orderly running and presentation of The Azincourt Alliance. Vice-Chairman The Vice-Chairman shall responsible for deputising for the Chairman where appropriate and shall be able to co-opt assistance where necessary. The Secretary The Secretary shall be responsible for the day to day maintenance of the groups communications, responding to all enquiries made as appropriate.
No member society or visiting society should allow its members to be under the influence, of intoxicating liquor or controlled substances prior to, practice, during a display or when representing the The Azincourt Alliance. Combatants should not fight with equipment likely to prejudice safety; this will be under the reasonable control of the appointed safety representative or marshal. Combatants shall wear approved head and hand protection suitable for the purpose in combat situations. Member societies and their members should behave in a responsible manner at all times, while engaged in The Azincourt Alliance business and shall not behave at any time in a manner detrimental to the good reputation of The Azincourt Alliance. Any society member or visiting member taking prescribed medicines should notify the appointed Safety Representative before taking part in any display and will be registered as doing so. Failure to supply this information may result in that person not being insured or not being permitted to fight at future events. Any society or its members unlawfully taking controlled substances will be automatically banned from the display and possibly from The Azincourt Alliance. These rules do not supercede but are in association with our stated safety regulations.
The Azincourt Alliance undertakes the provision of suitable Public Liability Insurance where applicable.
All personal equipment and costume used by the member societies of The Azincourt Alliance and their guests should reflect the current expected standards of The Azincourt Alliance and passed for authenticity and safety as approved by the appropriate representative.
It is expected, that before any member societies of The Azincourt Alliance embark on any activity involving The Azincourt Alliance that they will seek the guidance of the Chairman or Vice-chairman. If a person has a grievance connected with The Azincourt Alliance it is hoped that they will take the matter up with any member of the Committee before taking the matter further.
Once per year, usually at "The Battle at Azincourt" event or at another time agreed by the Committee (but not later than fourteen months from the date of the previous A.G.M.) The Committee shall call an Annual General Meeting. A.G.M. An Extraordinary General Meeting (E.G.M.) May be called by the Committee or upon receipt of a written request (stating the objective and proposed motions of the E.G.M.) signed by at least six full member societies. Changes to the Constitution can only be effected at an A.G.M. or at an E.G.M., called and managed according to the same rules, which apply to the A.G.M. An agenda and proposals for the A.G.M. or E.G.M. must be circulated to all member societies of The Azincourt Alliance not less than twenty-eight days prior to the date of the proposed meeting (A.G.M. or E.G.M.). Only fully paid up member societies where applicable will be entitled to vote at the A.G.M. or E.G.M. and wherever family membership applies, all family members except concessionary members, shall be entitled to vote.
